This is how my Wednesday morning will go, except I won’t have crazy long hair and the backdrop will be the airport.

This summarizes my St. Paddy’s Day. Snagged my pants on the remnants of a removed keyboard tray under my desk. Then found my frozen food from the communal fridge at work had vanished - so it was a chips/soda kinda lunch. Thank goodness my luck took a turn for the better at the Thrillist party last night. Somehow this time I didn’t get caught in the mad line for a change. #phew

I’ll be home for Christmas…
Yes! Over a week and a half in Bama. It’s been a long time since I’ve been home for so long, but I’m looking forward to resting. Disconnecting. Ahhhhh. If I can only finish packing and figure out what on earth is worth lugging down my steep two flights of stairs at the crack of dawn on Friday. But, let’s focus on the positives. So so many positives.
What am I looking forward to most of all, of course aside from seeing my parents and friends I haven’t seen in quite some time?

- Access to non-coin operated washer and dryers. Oh and not having to drag my laundry bag down two flights of stairs and over two blocks either!
- A massive kitchen spanning more than a few inches of counter space and a full real-people-sized oven. A baking I will go…
- Heat that doesn’t clank (CLANK CLANK CLANK!)
- Tacky and over-the-top Christmas decorations. Hopefully the neighbors won’t disappoint. I’m rooting for inflatable Pooh to make another appearance.
- Leaving behind my window unit A/C in the back of my apartment that the pigeons seem to have dubbed their resting place (WARBLE WARBLE)
- Eating at Rosie’s. Manhattan, your Mexican ain’t got nothing on this spot. Mas queso blanco, por favor. Y rapido! Oh, and Chick-fil-A and Sonic, naturally. ( <-The triumvirate )
- TAAAAAAR-JHAAAAAAAY! Cause it’s nothing but a bulls eye for me. Target in Brooklyn? It’ll *do*, but you can’t beat Target with a car.
- Access to matinee movies at all theatres. I so miss that. And I don’t think I should have to go to the movies at 11am to get that! On the list? Up in the Air, Invictus, Blind Side, Brothers, Crazy Heart, Nine, Lovely Bones…
- And finally… getting to see little Miss Dixie! Cause you know she’ll be ready - watching for me at the door :-)
Happy Holidays!

For the first time in the over two years I’ve lived in NYC, I finally made it over to walk by the Macy’s displays. Ok, to be fair, I was walking back from the Tori Amos concert, but I’m just glad I had the chance to go by. Definitely something to see at night. Can’t beat NYC during the holidays.
